Tadiandamol Trek

Tadiandamol Trek is the second-highest mountain in Karnataka. The highest peak of Kodagu district, i.e., 1746 meters high from sea level. The trek is situated in the south-eastern part of Coorg. The best place for trekking and is one of the attractive spots in Coorg. The destination is 8 km away from Kakkabe, 35 km away from Madikeri, and 30 km away from Virajpet. The best time to visit is early winter i.e., December to May.  With a vehicle, you can cover one-third of the trek.

Talakaveri Temple & Waterfalls

  

Talakaveri Temple is one of the most attractive spots in Brahmagiri Hills. It is located 8 km away from Bhagmandala and 48 km away from Madikeri . One of the most religious places visited by tourists. 1276 meters high from sea level there is Tirtha Kundike or Bramha Kundike known as a source of the Cauvery river. There are two temples One of Lord Shiva and another of Lord Ganesha. There is a holy tree known as ‘Aswatha ‘ where Sage Agastya saw holy avatars of Tridev i.e Brahma, Vishnu, and Mahesh. The best time to visit is in the month of October and can see well with water as showing the presence of Goddess Cauvery. We can see the view of the valley and from the peak, we can see Brahmagiri Peak, a holy spot where Sapta Maharishi performed a Special Yagna.

Gaddige Raja’s Tomb

 

Gadduge is the second name of the Gaddige Raja’s Tomb. This is the tomb of King Vira Rajendra. Linga Rajendra built this tomb. The tomb is situated in the northern part of Coorg. There are two tombs of loyal soldiers. With three Tombs and dame in the center and turrets at each end similar to Muslim Pilgrim Centre. We can see the spectacular view of the town.

Suntikoppa

Suntikoppa is the place where we can see the beauty of the district. On the road of Kushalnagar. 15 km away from Madikeri. Good spot for a picnic with family and your loved ones. There are Coffee and Spices plantations which attracts tourist. Good spot to watch migratory and residential birds. There is Ayyappa Temple which attracts tourists. Raja’s Seat

Raja’s seat is situated in Madikeri. Raja’s seat means ‘Seat of the kings ‘it was a favorite place of kings of Coorg. Sunset and Sunrise is the best scene to watch tourists have to watch this. The place is Park which is amazing. Gandhi mandap is at the left side of this park. There is a toy train around this place and an amusement area for children. Rs 5 /- is the entry fee of this park.

Mallalli Falls

Mallalli Falls is at the foot of Pushpagiri Hill ranges. It is in Bettadahalli Gram Panchayat. These falls start at Pushpa Giri peak which is over 200ft high. Good for trekking.  Falls are 25 km away from Somwarpet and 42 km away from Kushalnagar. Public Transportation is available. The best season to visit is the monsoon season, i.e., from July to September.

Madikeri Fort

Madikeri Fort is one place that you don’t want to miss from Coorg. Built-in the 17th Century by Mudduraja. Tipu Sultan rebuilt it with bricks and stones and named the fort as Jaffrabad. King Linga Rajendra also rebuilt it. In 1933 the British rebuilt it and added the Clock Tower and Portico to park cars. Fort used as the office of Deputy Commissioner. At the entrance, there is an Anglican Church where we can see the beauty of architectural work and Gothic Style. This church-run by the state archeology department.

Nalknad Aramane Palace

Nalknad Aramane Palace is in Kakkabe town of Coorg region near Yavakapadi Nalknad Aramane Village.  45 km away from Madikeri Town. Dodda Vira Rajendra built it in 1792. After escaping from Tipu Sultan he built this place. Being on the hilltop gives an advantage. Related to many historic incidents. Chikkavera Rajendra came here during the invasion of the British.

Omkareshwara Temple

Omkareswara was built in 1820 by Linga Rajendra. This architectural Beauty is 1 km away from Madikeri. Temple has Islamic and Gothic styles of architecture. Four Minarets, Dome in the center, on the front there is the pool. Shivalinga is named Omkareswara. Famously Known as Shiva Temple.

Karada Village

Karada Village is in the Kakkabe region. 18km away from Virajpet and 30 km away from Madikeri. Tourists feel calm here with mesmerizing beauty. 200-300 years old homes with history and ancient living. These houses provide different experiences and ancient Coorg Lifestyle.
